An old lace prom dress is something that you must find and try on. Break out your phone book or get on the Internet and look up vintage stores in your area.
Start calling the stores that you find to see if they have vintage lace dresses. You do not want to waste your time and gas driving around town if they don't even have what you are looking for.
Visit the store and try on some old lace dresses. Remember that the sizes in the fifties were different then today's sizes. Plus size prom dresses size sixteen then is like today's size eight or ten.
When trying on the dress make sure that you inspect the fit. Does the lace lie correctly on your body? Is the lace in good condition or are there tears or holes.
Once you have inspected the dress on your body give it a thorough inspection off your body. How is the stitching and how sturdy is the lace. Will your dress rip half way through the night? If so, this is not the dress for you.
Once you have inspected your cheap prom dresses and it meets your standards, it's time to buy it and rock your prom.
